This document gives details of the police investigation of the case of three police officers murdered at a checkpoint at Aracinovo on 11 January 2000. Although Amnesty International appreciates the need for a vigorous investigation into the event, the organization is concerned that the police committed numerous human rights violations during these investigations. Several people were beaten and some were arbitrarily detained and held incommunicado. One detainee, Sabri Asani, died in police custody and there is eveidence he may have been extrajudicially executed.
