Slovenia: Long-standing concerns: Rights of the erased and discrimination against Roma: Amnesty International submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review, October-November 2014

In this submission, Amnesty International notes with concern that the government of Slovenia has failed to implement legislation to recognize the rights of the erased and restore their status. Roma communities continue to be discriminated against, in particular as regards access to adequate housing, and safe drinking water and sanitation. The Slovenian authorities have failed to guarantee the security of tenure of people living in informal settlements and effectively protect them from the risk of forced evictions.
