Slovak Republic: Possible prisoner of conscience: Timotej Novotny

There is concern that Timotej Novotny, aged 22, from Bezovce, has been charged under Article 269, paragraph 1, of the Slovak Penal Code for refusing to perform military service on grounds of conscience. He has already served a year in prison after being convicted for this same offence in January 1995. Amnesty International is concerned that if convicted, he may be again be imprisoned as a prisoner of conscience.
