This report details the areas of concern that Amnesty International will raise at the 55th session of the UN Commission on Human Rights in March/April 1999. These include concerns in the following countries: Algeria, Cambodia, the Great Lakes region of Africa, Turkey, USA, China, Colombia, Indonesia, Mexico, the Russian Federation and Saudia Arabia. Thematic issues include child soldiers, "disappearances", torture, human rights defenders and the death penalty. The annex provides a selective list of Amnesty International documents relating to these concerns.
