African Union: A human rights agenda for the new chairperson

Since its inception in 2002, the African Union (AU) has become a central player in Africa in the areas of conflict resolution, peace and security and international justice. The Office of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) therefore plays a pivotal role in addressing human rights issues on the continent. As Dr. Dhlamini-Zuma assumes office as the new chair, Amnesty International draws her attention to the human rights concerns expressed in this document.
