The above-named was arrested on 17 November 1990 and held for two weeks in the custody of the State Security Intelligence Police before being transferred to prison. During this time he is reported to have been tortured and suffered a fractured jaw. After his transfer to prison, he was visited by members of the Egyptian Medical Association, who confirmed that he bore signs of ill-treatment.
