Amnesty International has learned that prisoners of conscience Mahmoud ‘Ali Abu Rayya and Dr Mahmoud Ahmad ‘Omar al-‘Arini were released in February 1999. No further action on their cases is required. Dr ‘Abd al-Mun’im Abu al-Futuh ‘Bad al-Hady, another prisoner of conscience, remains in detention and Amnesty International is calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
