Egypt: Death penalty / imminent execution

Mohammad al-Gindi Ramadhan, Mohammad Fathi Raslan, Salah al-Badri and Abu al-Mawaheb Ibrahim were sentenced to death on 21 May 1998 having been found guilty of murder. Their sentences have now been passed to the Mufti, the highest religious authority in the country, for approval. If the sentences are upheld the men are at risk of imminent execution.
