Ma’soumeh Ka’bi was sentenced to four-and-a-half years’ imprisonment on 1 January 2009: she was given 15 days to lodge an appeal, and released on bail of 1.5 billion Iranian Riyals (about US$151,000). Her five children are now known to have been released in late October.
