The above, forcibly returned to Iran from Turkey on 25 April 1996, is being held in a detention centre in Tehran controlled by the Ministry of Information. The legal basis for any such detention is unknown, but it is feared that, if true, he may be held in incommunicado detention and at risk of torture or ill-treatment.
