As part of Amnesty International’s Campaign against Torture the organization is calling on the Iraqi authorities to ratify and implement the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, to abolish punishments which constitute torture including punitive surgery and to declare a moratorium on executions.
