Muhammad ‘Ali Qulaib was sentenced to death on 21 August 1993 by the Criminal Court, following his conviction of rape. The sentence may be carried out if it is upheld by the High Court of Appeal and the Court of Cassation and ratified by the Amir of Kuwait.
