Suliamon Olyfemi was sentenced to death for the murder of a policeman in September 2002. He was one of 13 Nigerian nationals charged in connection with the murder, one of whom reportedly died in prison. The exact sentences of the remaining 11 people are not clear. Amnesty International is calling on the Saudi Arabian authorities to commute Suliamon Olyfemi’s death sentence; to ensure that he is able to exercise effectively his rights to judicial review; and to prevent the 11 Nigerian men from being flogged or executed.
