Syria: Reformist may be detained, risks torture: Dr Mohamed al-Ammar

A peaceful advocate of democratic reform in Syria, Dr Mohamed al-Ammar, went missing on his way home from work in the southern city of Dera’a, on 19 March 2012. He is believed to be held at the Military Intelligence branch in Dera’a in conditions amounting to enforced disappearance, putting him at risk of torture or other ill-treatment.
