Forced eviction in Kenya
5 October 2009
Video placeholder
More than 20,000 people have been forcibly evicted from neighbourhoods
in or around Nairobi since 2000. Up to 127,000 people in Nairobi River
Basin will be victims of forced eviction if the river clean-up exercise
goes ahead as planned, without a comprehensive relocation plan for the
affected residents.
This video was produced as part of an initiative by Amnesty International in the Netherlands to work with local African film production companies to document the realities of forced evictions for people living on the continent.
