The Human Rights Education Team is currently recruiting an intern as Human Rights Education (HRE) Administrative and Project Assistant. This position requires you to work 3-4 days for a minimum of 5-6 months, although special arrangements can be made depending on the nature of the work you have been assigned and your own requirements. The contract can be extended or renewed by mutual agreement.&lt;br /&gt;
Voluntary work in Amnesty International, one of the world&amp;rsquo;s leading human rights organizations, can provide valuable experience and you will receive work references at the completion of your assignment. However, please note that volunteering does not lead directly to employment with Amnesty International.&lt;br /&gt;
Voluntary work, including this internship position, is unpaid, although travel and lunch expenses are provided. If you are applying from outside of London, we are able to offer only very limited advice in terms of finding accommodation or employment in London. Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own UK visa/work permit before arriving in the UK. AI can provide a supporting letter on request.&lt;br /&gt;

This internship is specifically aimed at providing administrative and project support to the Human Rights Education Team in the implementation of Amnesty International&amp;rsquo;s Human Rights Education work. This internship could provide the intern with solid experience in administration for international organizations.

To be an administrative and project assistant to the Human Rights Education Team with the responsibility to update and maintain current administrative tools and provide administrative support. The intern will be given appropriate training to enable him/her to complete the assigned tasks. The intern will be invited to attend relevant Team and Programme meetings.

The Human Rights Education Team is based in the International Mobilization Programme at the International Secretariat of Amnesty International in London, and is responsible for the implementation of the International Human Rights Education Strategy, including the development and implementation of International Human Rights Education projects.&amp;nbsp;

&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Provide administrative support to the HRE Team. This will include managing meeting schedules, tracking deadlines, preparing documents and mailings, receiving and prioritising incoming enquiries, filing, photocopying, making travel arrangements, handling routine correspondence.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Organizational assistance. The intern will be required to develop and maintain document organizational systems such as databases. &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Drafting. The intern may be asked to assist with the drafting of internal documents. &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Research of information on the internet, internal databases, or by phone.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Helping with translations (depending on language skills: English/Spanish/French)&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Support tracking the HRE budget and preparing various financial support documentation as required. &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Organize and coordinate meetings, prepare and circulate agendas, draft meeting minutes. &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Organize travel arrangements for the HRE Team. &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Be the first point of contact for both internal and external queries ensuring timely response. Deal with those that are straightforward and refer others on to colleagues as appropriate.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE &lt;br /&gt;

&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Excellent spoken and written English. Fluency in Spanish and/or French highly desirable. &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Competence with computer word processing, excel, databases, internet. &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Willingness to undertake routine administrative work. &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;Awareness of the importance of accuracy and the ability to produce accurate work.&lt;br /&gt;

The Human Rights Education Team works to support and facilitate the HRE work of Amnesty International through: mobilizing existing national and regional resources, building the capacity of the movement through improved coordination and communication, leading International HRE Projects, strengthening the AI HRE network, mainstreaming monitoring and evaluation of HRE work, and supporting of key AI global campaigns. The work of the Human Rights Education Team responds to the imperatives of the Integrated Strategic Plan, the International HRE Strategy, and the Growth and Mobilization Strategy, as well as to trends in the global HRE movement.
