Senior Director – Research
Nicola Duckworth is the interim Senior Director of Research. She is responsible for research standards and country work across five regional departments: Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and Central Asia and Middle East and North Africa. She has extensive experience across the whole Europe and Central Asia region on human rights especially in relation to the countries in the former USSR. She is also a key spokesperson on freedom on expression and torture and ill treatment.
Nicola was previously the Programme Director for the Europe and Central Asia programme. She has worked in various roles for Amnesty International since 1983.
