Thailand: Attacks in Thailand condemned

Amnesty International condemns the bomb attacks, arson attacks and shootings that were carried out in Yala, Narathiwat, Pattani and Songhkla provinces in southern Thailand on the evening of 18 February and early morning of 19 February. Eight people were killed and more than 50 injured in the attacks, including athotels, petrol stations, houses, karaoke bars, schools and other places frequented by civilians.

Amnesty International calls for the attacks to be investigated promptly, effectively, and impartially and for suspected perpetratorsto beprosecuted in proceedings that fully respect international fair trial standards.
