ALBANIA:Arben Elmaz HAXHIU

Amnesty International has just learned of the execution of Arben Haxhiu. The President of the Republic approved his death sentence on 1 June 1992 and it is likely that his execution was carried out a few days later. He had been sentenced to death in March 1992 by the district court of Durres for the murder of a naval officer and his sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court on 6 April 1992.

No further action is required on this case by the Urgent Action network. Thank you to all those who sent appeals.
