REPUBLIC OF ESTONIA:Vladimir BOTCHKO

Amnesty International has learned that Vladimir Botchko, who was sentenced to death for the rape and murder of a five-year-old girl, has had his sentence commuted. In a letter from the Estonian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the organization was informed that President Meri had commuted the death sentence to life imprisonment.

No further action is required from the Urgent Action network. Thank you very much to all those who sent appeals on Vladimir Botchko's behalf.
