PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY (PA): GAZA At least 200 Palestinians

On 7 August, the Ministry of the Interior of the de facto Hamas administration in Gaza announced that its security forces had released 150 of the Palestinian detainees, including senior Fatah leaders.

Amnesty International will continue to monitor the situation of the remaining detainees, in particular their right to be treated humanely and to have access to legal counsel. They should be released if they are not brought before a judge and charged with recognizable criminal offences.
