Canada: Briefing to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child: 61st Session

This brief has been prepared for the consideration of Canada’s periodic reports under the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Amnesty International is concerned about the rights of indigenous children and in particular the widespread removal of First Nations children from their families, communities and cultures. The organization also outlines concerns about the case of Omar Khadr, who was fifteen years old when he was apprehended by US soldiers in the course of a military operation in Afghanistan.
