Omar Khadr is facing unfair trial by military commission in Guantanamo Bay for crimes he is alleged to have committed when he was 15 years old. The trial is due to begin on 26 January 2009. Amnesty International has welcomed President-elect Barack Obama's stated commitment to closing the Guantanamo detention facility but is concerned that he has made no announcements about stopping military commission proceedings.
