USA: Open letter to parole board

In this open letter Amnesty International acknowledges that Leonard Peltier has been convicted of a serious crime, and that two FBI agents were shot at point blank range. However the organization has serious questions about the fairness of the legal proceedings which are detailed in the letter. Noting that Leonard Peltier has spent around 32 years in prison and that appeals before the courts have been exhausted, Amnesty International believes that the interests of justice would best be served by granting him parole.
