Since 11 September 2001, the UK authorities have passed a series of new "anti-terrorism" laws. Amnesty International is concerned that the UK government has successfully sought the enactment of legislation that curtails judicial powers. The organization remains concerned about the adequacy and extent of the accountability of UK armed forces personnel for their actions abroad. Amnesty International considers that the UK government has failed to deliver on its promise to "bring rights home". At the end of this report, which includes illustrative case, Amnesty International makes a series of recommendations to the UK government.
