This briefing focuses on some of the serious human rights violations that have taken place in the context of the UK authorities' response to the 11 September 2001 attacks in the Unites States of America. It also describes Amnesty International's concerns about army deaths in disputed circumstances, child soldiers, violence against women, the treatment of asylum-seekers and refugees, the UK role in Iraq, and the UK's failure to address human rights violations at the US Naval Base in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, of people held in US custody.
