The newspaper Molodyozh Severa (Youth of the North) reported on 15 May 1992 that S Polotsky was under sentence of death in a prison in Komi. He had apparently been convicted of murder in May 1989. At present he is held in the investigation-isolation prison in Syktyvkar, awaiting the outcome of his petition for clemency.
