Russian Federation: Nowhere to turn to: Violence against women in the family

Amnesty International is concerned that few steps have been taken by the federal, regional and local governments to prevent violence against women in the family, to provide protection to victims and to punish those who have been found responsible for committing such acts of violence in the family. In this report Amnesty International urges the authorities of the Russian Federation to abide by their obligations under international human rights law to protect women from violence, including from violence in the family.
