USA: Re Guantánamo: A human rights appeal to the US administration and Congress

In recent weeks, the detentions at the US naval base in Guantánamo Bay have been back in the spotlight, forced there by the hunger strike in which more than half of the detainees are currently involved. In this appeal, Amnesty International calls on members of the administration and Congress to seize this moment as an urgent priority, to address the detentions as a matter of human rights, and to close the detention facility in accordance with those principles.
