This report is launched as part of Amnesty International’s major campaign for the recognition of the right to conscientious objection to military service in Europe. It provides an overview of various international and European human rights standards, and examines provisions governing conscientious objection and case details of conscientious objectors in countries throughout Europe. The report concludes with a number of recommendations aimed at enhancing human rights protection for conscientious objectors.
