Germany: United Nations Committee on Enforced Disappearances: Preliminary briefing on the Federal Republic of Germany

In this preliminary briefing, Amnesty International and the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights present the organizations’ analysis on the lack of full implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance by Germany. Both organizations note a number of serious gaps in German national law that could prevent the investigation and prosecution of those suspected of criminal responsibility for enforced disappearance. The organizations feel these gaps are not accurately addressed by the State Party in its Report to the Committee.
