Bosnia and Herzegovina: Submission to the UN Human Rights Committee

This briefing highlights Amnesty International’s concerns in relation to human rights violations linked to the legacy of the 1992-1995 conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina. These include the ongoing failure of the authorities to bring legislation criminalising war crimes of sexual violence in line with international standards, which may result in impunity for such acts, as well as a failure to bolster capacity for the investigation and prosecution of these crimes, and the provision of support services to victims, in order to provide full access to justice and reparations for survivors of war crimes of sexual violence.
